Job DescriptionPost Graduate Assistant Teacher (Prep Sport)Location: Brighton CollegeSalary: £23,795 per annumVacancy Type: Fixed Term, Full TimeBrighton College Prep School is seeking to appoint a Post-Graduate Assistant Teacher (Prep Sport) to start as soon as possible. This is a fixed-term position until the end of Trinity 2026, with the possibility of extension for the right candidate.We are looking for a graduate who is passionate about sport, has a love of learning and who wishes to share that passion with enthusiastic and energetic young people. Experience in netball is essential, and in swimming and athletics is desirable, although not essential.We are looking for a graduate with excellent administrative skills, patience and flexibility who is also willing to undertake essential routine administrative tasks across the whole department. The post would best suit someone considering a teaching or coaching career, although no teaching experience or qualification is required.Role SpecificationThe post may involve some or all of the following tasks: * Coaching netball to pupils in Years 3 to 6. * Teaching PE to pupils in Reception to Year 6. * Assisting with the teaching of swimming to pupils in Years 1-6. * Coaching teams and games sessions from Years 3-6 as appropriate in netball, hockey, tennis, athletics, football, rugby and cricket (including some weekend fixtures). * Officiating as appropriate in netball, hockey, tennis, athletics, football, rugby and cricket. * Team teaching and assisting experienced subject teachers in classroom situations. * Running or assisting with extracurricular activities as required. * Assisting with weekly departmental administration (experience in using SOCS desirable). * Assisting with the organisation of swimming galas, sports days and tournaments. * Undertaking school duties. * Being a full member of the teaching staff.Safeguarding Responsibilities * This role will involve daily contact with pupils, and the successful candidate will be engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. * All staff and volunteers have a responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons for whom they are responsible and with whom they come into contact.Wellbeing * Subsidised gym membership for the School of Science and Sport is available, which includes access to yoga and Pilates classes, meditation sessions and use of the gym and swimming pool. * Personalised health and wellbeing consultations. * Generous sickness policy. * Access to books, magazines and DVDs from the College Library. * Comprehensive wellbeing package.Benefits * Contributory pension scheme with matching contributions from the employer up to 9%, which all eligible employees will be automatically enrolled into within three months of commencement of employment. * Life Cover is provided whilst working at Brighton College after successfully passing probation period. * Complimentary lunch is provided. * Free tickets to the College’s music, dance and drama performances. * Job specific learning and development programme available to all employees. * Employee benefit and discount platform.To ApplyIf you feel you are a suitable candidate and would like to work for Brighton College, please click apply to be redirected to their website to complete your application
