We promote a safe working environment and push people to shape and progress their careers so that we grow our talent within the company.ScottishPower Energy Networks (SPEN) has kicked off an ambitious security transformation programme to transparently reduce risk, achieve compliance with NIS regulations and deliver a cyber resilient business, the Risk and Assurance Analyst will be essential in achieving our goals.A Risk and Assurance Analyst within SP Energy Networks (SPEN) plays a critical role in supporting SPEN Cyber's mission to maintain robust cybersecurity governance, manage cyber risks effectively, and deliver assurance across IT and OT environments.This postholder is central to ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks such as the NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF), and internal policies and standards. The Cyber Risk & Assurance analyst will collaborate with stakeholders across the business to embed cyber governance practices, assess and mitigate risks, and provide assurance on the effectiveness of cyber controls and capabilities.The role offers exposure to a wide range of cybersecurity disciplines within a dynamic and regulated energy sector environment.What You'll Be DoingWithin this position, you will be responsible for:Third Party Risk ManagementExecute the full Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) lifecycle, including onboarding, control evaluation, and ongoing monitoring.Maintain and update supplier inventory, contribute to supplier segmentation and tiering, and contribute to continuous improvement of TPRM frameworks.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, Legal and Procurement) to embed risk mitigation strategies across supplier engagements.Assess the design and operational effectiveness of supplier controls, ensuring compliance with ISO 2700, IEC 62443, and regulatory requirements.Coordinate cyber assurance reviews for strategic suppliers, identifying control gaps, evaluate remediation plans, and track actions to closure.Support risk reporting and escalation processes, ensuring visibility of supplier related cyber risks to senior leadership.RiskSupport Cyber Risk Owners in documenting and managing risks within the enterprise risk management system.Contribute to risk reporting and escalation processes, ensuring visibility of key cyber risks to senior leadership.AssuranceMaintain and update the CAF Evidence Repository and dashboard reporting of attainment status.Providing assurance input for change initiatives and regulatory compliance assessments.What You'll BringTechnical Skills:Minimum 3 years' experience in Third Party Risk Management, Cyber Risk, or Assurance within a regulated environment.Familiarity with structured management systems and compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, IEC 62443).Understanding of IT and OT cybersecurity principles, frameworks and best practices such as NCSC CAF, ISO27001, MITRE or NIST CSF.Proficiency in risk assessment methodologies and assurance planning.Awareness of regulatory requirements, such as NIS Regulations.Professional certifications (CISA, SSCP, CISM) or similar are advantageous but not mandatory.Soft Skills/AbilitiesStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Excellent communication skills for engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders.Collaborative team player with strong stakeholder engagement.Adaptability to change and ability to manage multiple priority in a fast paced environment.As a Minimum, You Will Need To DemonstrateAt least 2 years of experience in a regulated environment, preferably in industrial sectors (energy or otherwise).Hands-on experience in TPRM process, including supplier onboarding, control evaluation and ongoing monitoring.Practical exposure to cyber risk assessments and control evaluations.Familiarity with risk management tools and assurance dashboards.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver within deadlines.Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and presenting assurance outcomes.Demonstrated collaboration skills to promote efficient team working relationships.What's In It For YouAs well as a competitive salary which is reviewed annually, you can also enjoy a number of other benefits.
