Job Title: Electrical Commissioning Systems EngineerLocation: Portsmouth Naval Base – Onsite onlySalary: Up to £45,998 (dependent on skills and experience)What you'll be doing:Maintenance, commissioning, defect diagnosis and rectification on Electrical High-voltage/Low-voltage SystemsApply depth and breadth of knowledge relating to Electrical High-voltage/Low-voltage systems in order to resolve the most complex challenges, issues and faults associated with commissioning, operation, and performance of systemsPresent designated trials and commissioning activitiesOperate Safe Systems of Work that comply with the company SHE procedures at all timesProvide mentorship and technical guidance to less experienced EngineersProvide information and technical advice to assist in the compilation of estimates, programs and work packagesYour skills and experiences:Deep knowledge and experience of Electrical Low-voltage systems and what influences their performanceAbility to work with a high degree of technical autonomy and provide advice and guidance to other technical staffAbility to engage with customers and authorities in writing, by telephone or face to face to discuss technical issues and problemsMinimum NVQ/HNC in Electrical EngineeringExperience in High-voltage systems would be advantageousBenefitsAs well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts – you may also be eligible for an annual incentive.The Electrical Systems Team:Conducting Electrical HV & LV Systems commissioning, operation, maintenance, and defect rectification activities on board Royal Navy Queen Elizabeth Class (QEC) Aircraft Carriers, Type 45 (T45) Destroyers, Type 23 (T23) Frigates, HUNT class and any contracted tasking.As the world has evolved, so has the way we work.
