We're partnering with a global architecture and design practice with a strong reputation for design quality, research, and digital innovation. Their work spans architecture, urbanism and masterplanning, and they're investing heavily in how technology supports better project delivery and user experience.As part of this, they're looking to appoint a Digital Solutions Specialist to sit within their global digital design team; this is a key role on the team bridging design, technology and the wider business, helping to develop and embed tools, workflows and automation that support project teams across multiple studios.The roleLead the end-to-end development of user-centred digital tools and workflows for architecture and masterplanning projects; from discovery and user research through to prototyping, testing, documentation and trainingTranslate business and project needs into scalable, robust tools, scripts and plugins (e.g. Revit API, Dynamo, Grasshopper, Python, C#, JavaScript), including AI- or data-driven workflows where appropriateDesign and implement automation for repetitive tasks, geometry generation, data management and performance optimisation to support project teams at building and urban scalesWork closely with BIM, GIS and computational design specialists to ensure tools integrate seamlessly with existing AEC platforms and workflows (Autodesk, ESRI, McNeel and others)Help define deployment, integration and change-management strategies so that solutions are practical, adopted and deliver clear value to live projectsRun workshops, design sprints and stakeholder sessions to identify opportunities for innovation and validate ideas with end usersPresent concepts and implementation plans to design and business leaders, clearly explaining technical decisions to non-technical audiencesSupport planning, timelines and deliverables across the solution lifecycle, coordinating testing and rollout with project and studio teamsMonitor usage and performance using analytics and feedback, iterating on tools and recommending enhancements over timeProduce and maintain clear documentation, guidelines and training materials tailored to architects, planners and project teamsAbout youDegree in Architecture, Urban Design/Planning, Computer Science or a related field, with a strong focus on computational design and digital workflowsc.3+ years' experience developing computational / design automation solutions within the built environment (architecture, engineering, or related AEC context)Strong understanding of how to evaluate and implement emerging technologies into real-world project deliveryProficiency with several of the following tools: Revit API, Dynamo, Grasshopper, C#, Python, C++, JavaScriptConfident working with Autodesk tools (Revit, AutoCAD); familiarity with ESRI / QGIS and Rhino is a welcome plusComfortable operating between design, technical and business stakeholders - able to listen, translate needs and communicate clearly at all levelsOrganised, detail focused, and able to manage multiple concurrent tasks and prioritiesCollaborative mindset with the ability to work independently when needed and take ownership of solutions from concept through to deploymentGenuine interest in AI-enabled workflows and the future of digital design within architecture and urbanismWhy joinPlay a central role in shaping digital design tools and workflows across an established, design-led global practiceWork with a multidisciplinary team of architects, planners and digital specialists on projects at building and city scaleOpportunity to explore and embed emerging technologies, including AI/ML, automation and data driven design into real project deliveryCollaborative, people focused culture with employee ownership, strong professional development support and international collaborationFlexible / hybrid working and the chance to influence how digital design is delivered across multiple studios and regionsIf you'd like to find out more, you can apply via MADE Careers or get in touch in confidence for an initial chat.
