The opportunity:The Real Time Actuation Software Group is tasked with the development and delivery of actuation software that is a key component of our products, deployed into missile programmes. This role will provide the opportunity for collaboration with System Engineers, algorithm focused Servo Engineers, Product Verification and Equipment Design Authority.• Can you provide inspiration and leadership to software teams?• Do you have the process adherence and quality focus to develop safety-critical software?• Are you committed to applying innovating software development methods and techniques for efficiency improvements?What we're looking for from you:A leader in software focussed on team leadership and delivering software. We are looking for a Software Project Lead (SPL) who can build high-performing teams and create strong working relations with the multidiscipline project environments. These project environments include financial and budget control, system design, electronic design, safety, security & quality.Proven ability to manage a team of software developers (typically 5 to 10 engineers).Experience of delivering safety related projects and working to associated processes (e.g. DO178C or equivalent).A proven record of managing a software budget and have the confidence to control change to the requirements and costs, against an agreed estimate/budget.Understanding the embedded software development process in 'C'.Project management skills to ensure good planning, delivery and cost control of software.A good understanding of software and the software development lifecycle including configuration management tools and techniques, to be able to provide effective oversight.The ability to understand requirements, design and verification and validation solutions so that you can produce accurate and cost-effective estimates of work to be undertaken.Our company: Peace is not a given, Freedom is not a given, Sovereignty is not a givenMBDA is a leading defence organisation.
