Job DescriptionJob DescriptionYour impactAt Leonardo, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Material Controller. The Integrated Sensing and Protection business in Southampton is uniquely positioned as one of the world's top manufacturers of Infra-Red detectors and communication systems. As a Material Controller you will control the flow of material within the Production environment in a timeframe that supports the Master Production Schedule (MPS).What you will be doing as a Material ControllerOrganising and issuing materials to the manufacturing area.Maintaining traceability of all production materials and finished goods.Organising the return to vendor of faulty or incorrect materialsWorking with engineers to ensure build standard integrity is maintained.Generating and managing works orders for new build and repair activities.Ensuring material is available in line with the master production schedule.Generation of shipping documentationOrganising the processing of customer repairsControl and reporting of Government furnished assetsWhat You’ll BringExperience of planning and controlling materials in a manufacturing environment is desirable although other comparable experience would be considered.Experience of SAP or similar manufacturing executions systemsThis is not an exhaustive list, and we are keen to hear from you even if you might not have experience in all the above. The most important skill is a good attitude and willingness to learn.Security ClearanceThis role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS).
