The successful candidate will ensure all work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards.You will take ownership of the full project lifecycle, from planning and coordination through to execution, monitoring, and completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance with governance requirements. The role requires close collaboration with on-site teams, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver projects successfully from start to finish.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the planning, coordination, and delivery of construction and modernisation projects.Develop and maintain detailed project plans for new and existing phases of work.Manage project risks, costs, and schedules to ensure value and efficiency.Provide accurate and timely progress reports to senior stakeholders and committees.Lead, motivate, and coordinate cross-functional project teams.Work closely with the QS and Principal Contractor to ensure successful project delivery.Approve and authorise documentation in line with company governance standards.Qualifications & ExperienceEssential:Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering, construction, or project management discipline.Proven experience managing large-scale production, development, or capital investment projects — ideally within live manufacturing or engineering environments.Strong commercial and financial understanding.Experience using project management tools such as Primavera or Microsoft Project.Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.Demonstrated ability to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.Desirable:Recognised Project Management qualification (APM, PRINCE2, etc.).Construction-related qualifications (e.g. RIBA).Experience within the defence or nuclear sectors.Understanding of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or operational excellence principles.Person SpecificationStrong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.Highly organised, detail-focused, and proactive.Able to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.Decisive and adaptable, with strong problem-solving abilities.Capable of working in safety-critical and challenging environments.Willing to travel within the UK and overseas as required.
