We are also open to compressed hours in this role.Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. A very strong engineering background and a qualification is essential but a passion, focus, drive and vision to lead a team to deliver successfully is equally important.You will play a key role in building the capability (People, Processes and Projects), developing the future roadmap and strategic plans and have the opportunity to collaborate with external stakeholders to measure and monitor successes. You will drive opportunities to support sustainability and strategies for our Electronics equipment's, maintain and develop skills and competencies and support internal knowledge management.You will implement change strategy in order to instil a high performance culture.Your team will be involved in all phases of the V model and design life cycle, from requirement inception through to Verification & Validation plans and generation of Certificate of Design. This will offer you and your team a great opportunity to strongly influence the requirements, the design and interact with the wider multidiscipline design teams (Project Manager, Architect, Electronic Engineers, FPGA Engineer, Software Engineer...); whilst also leveraging the latest tools and methodologies.Your role will be to:Support/Lead change programmes to meet a dynamic environment delivering equipment critical to the defence of our nation and its front line forces. Deliver high quality development and performance evaluations in order to maximise the potential of our people for today and for the future.Lead the development and harmonisation of processes that are fit for the rapid development of cutting edge technologies.Monitor, review and report progress against technical and schedule deadlines with support from a technical delivery leads and functional team leaders.With the help of our Technical Expert community, reinforce technical excellence through robust design activity.Support the recruitment process to meet our workload and skills needs.Motivate people/teams to pull together to deliver through challenging technical and time bound environmentsWhat we're looking for from you:Degree qualified with a solid background in Electronic Engineering, with experience in the majority of the following areas: Strong leadership skills, with the ability to define and communicate a clear engineering vision and mission. A strong communicator with the ability to influence, collaborate and network across multiskilled teams to ensure on time, on cost, on quality delivery. A self-motivated leader with the drive and commitment to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong experience across a wide range of direct people management responsibilities eg. recruitment, onboarding, performance management, succession planning and skills development (to meet both current and future business needs) etc. Proven experience of Process improvement/change management and being part of a continuous improvement culture. Please note: Some of our roles require an elevated level of security clearance.
