Job DescriptionAbout The RoleAs a Store Manager, your role as shopkeeper means you run your own store with an entrepreneurial spirit, with your customers, colleagues and local communities being your number one priority. Youll lead your team to ensure the store is a great place for people to work and shopReporting to the Area Manager you will be responsible for:Leading a team to create a culture where our customer experience is the best in the market, in line with the Morrisons brand. Always challenging and thinking of new ways to serve our customers better.Working hard to get the best out of your stores commercial performance, treating it as if it was your own business, always thinking of new ways to improve your offeringLeading on all people activities including recruitment, induction, training and development, ensuring you build an inclusive culture where everyone is empowered to deliver great customer service.Building and managing relationships, understanding the important role your store plays in supporting the local community.About YouOur Store Managers typically have prior experience in fast paced, service focused environments such as retail, convenience or the hospitality sector. So early mornings, late nights and weekends are when you will most likely be working. However, flexibility will be required.As part of this rewarding role, you may be involved in managing and interacting with children 16 and under, due to our large Home News Delivery operation. Therefore the successful candidate may be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check, or if you're based in Scotland, a PVG check before joining the business.Some of our stores offer their local communities post office services, therefore you may also be required to undergo a P250 check as part of your offer of employment, which includes a financial check.About The CompanyMorrisons acquired the McColls business in 2022. Our convenience proposition consists of a network of 1,004 convenience stores and newsagents. Our stores are made up of Morrisons Daily, McColls, Martins and R S McColl stores across England, Scotland, and Wales.Our aim is to be Your Favourite Neighbourhood Shop, providing a great range of quality everyday products and services, close to where people live, so were always available when customers need us.Next StepsApplicants who are shortlisted will be contacted by a recruiter and a screening call will be held.
