Comprehensive in-house training will be provided, with a structured development programme and competency progression pathway.Key Responsibilities:TIG welding of components, including thin materialsPicking components and preparing assembliesProviding downstream departments with completed assembliesLiaising with multiple teams to ensure smooth workflowRecording quality failures and reporting to the Quality DepartmentFollowing fault-finding proceduresUsing in-house systems for H&S and quality data entryEssential Skills & ExperienceCompetent TIG welderExperience with stainless steel, carbon steel or aluminium (aluminium highly desirable)Good English comprehension for safety complianceBasic IT skills (data entry, email)Able to work with measurements, angles and simple calculationsMotivated, adaptable and willing to learnAble to work independently and as part of a teamGood attitude and willingness to undergo extensive trainingMechanical assembly experience beneficial but not essentialASME IX certification desirable but not essentialMachinery operation or manufacturing background advantageousFLT licences beneficial but not required (training available)Hours & Pay:MondayFriday, 7am3pm (37.5 hrs/week)1 x 15-min paid break, 1 x 30-min unpaid lunchStarting pay: £13.81/hour, due to training likely requiredCandidates with the necessary experience may receive a higher starting ratePay may increase post-probation based on performanceTemp-to-perm pathway: 12 weeks (9-week probation), followed by permanent offer upon successful performanceInterview Process (On Site):Face-to-face with Engineering Manager + on-site Welder1-hour skills test (weld test using scrap materials)Site walk-through and process discussionPPE required: Bring steel toe caps and fire-retardant clothingSafety glasses & hi-vis provided on-site (or can bring your own)Team & Training:4 Welders, 1 Hose Tester, 4 AssemblersCross-training encouraged across rolesExtensive training programmeFull independence typically achieved after ~8 monthsOptional FLT training availableBenefits:As a permanent employee (after the 12 week temp contract), you will receive:25 days holiday + bank holidaysContributory pensionCycle to Work schemeLife assurancePaid wellbeing day24/7 Employee Assistance Programme (mental health, GP, nutrition, PT sessions, wellbeing coaching, physiotherapy, financial & legal support)Discounts & savings schemeCompany sick payGroup income protectionLong service recognitionFree LinkedIn Learning accessFree branded workwear & eye testsJBRP1_UKTJ
