Job DescriptionAssociate Director / Director of Town Planning Location: EdinburghPenguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading independent planning consultancy in their search for an Associate or Director-level Town Planner to join their Edinburgh office.About the CompanyOur client is a well-established, independent town planning practice operating across the UK, known for delivering sustainable and innovative planning solutions to a diverse range of clients. Their collaborative and forward-thinking culture makes this an exciting opportunity for an ambitious planner looking to take the next step in their career.The RoleThis is a full-time or part-time position (minimum 4 days per week) for an experienced Associate Director or Director to co-lead the firm's Edinburgh office. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing planning projects, providing expert advice, preparing reports, and maintaining strong client relationships. You'll also contribute to the strategic growth and direction of the business.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage a variety of planning projects across Scotland and the wider UKProvide strategic planning advice to clientsPrepare and review reports, applications, and assessmentsEngage with clients, stakeholders, and local authoritiesSupport business development and client relationship managementMentor and collaborate with junior team membersRequirementsChartered Member of the RTPI (MRTPI)Strong background in Urban, Land Use, or Environmental PlanningProven experience in project management and business developmentExcellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skillsSound knowledge of planning regulations and policies in Scotland and the UKAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamProficiency in planning software and relevant toolsDegree in Urban Planning or related disciplineInterested?
