Job DescriptionConveyancing Assistant – York I am working in partnership with a well-regarded regional law firm that is looking to recruit an experienced Conveyancing Assistant to join its established residential property team in York. This is a full-time, office-based role, ideal for someone with at least 12 months' experience supporting a busy conveyancing team, particularly with residential sales and purchases.This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and professional legal support specialist who thrives in a client-focused, fast-paced environment. You will work closely with solicitors and fee earners on a high-volume caseload, playing a key role in ensuring the conveyancing process runs smoothly for clients from start to finish.Key Responsibilities:Opening new client files and accurately inputting data into the case management systemDrafting initial correspondence and legal documentation, including issuing contracts on sale filesProgressing transactions in line with internal procedures and service standardsOrdering property searches and assisting with the preparation of client reportsSupporting exchanges, completions and handling post-completion mattersLiaising with clients, estate agents and other solicitors by phone and emailManaging incoming and outgoing postProviding general administrative support including filing, billing and archivingWhat We're Looking For:A minimum of 12 months’ experience in a conveyancing assistant or similar legal support roleStrong administrative skills with excellent attention to detailConfident and accurate communication skills, both written and verbalCompetence with IT systems and case management softwareStrong organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively under pressureA professional, friendly and client-focused approachAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamA proactive attitude with a willingness to take initiativeWhy Join This Firm?You'll be joining a friendly, collaborative team within a respected and well-established legal practice that values its people and offers real opportunities for career growth.
