Job DescriptionTechnical ManagerA national house builder have a requirement for a Technical Manager to join their Technical team based in Greater Manchester.As a Technical Manager you will be taking the lead on volume residential developments (mix of houses and apartments for open market sales and affordable housing) from detailed design stage to post completionReporting to the Technical Director you will be responsible for:Assisting with principal designs for roads, sewers and foundationsUndertake value engineering assessments and ensure buildability is considered.Manage the design delivery plan and Project Technical TrackersAttending and chairing Handover and Pre-Start Meetings and briefing all departments on matters related to the engineering and working drawings.Coordinate delivery of surveys & reports required for the development and manage associated requirements from design to completion.Manage the process of obtaining consultant fee proposals and formal appointment documents in accordance with Group procedures.Coordinate and appoint consultants to deliver the civil engineering designs including legal plans and house type working drawing packs.Coordinate submission of designs and securing technical approvals for agreements (S104, S38 & S278) followed by completion of legal agreementsCo-ordinate utility designs and initial mains laying onto site, ensuring legal agreements are completedLiaise with architects, civil & structural engineers and landscape architects, ensuring consistency and coordination between various designs.Prepare all drawings and documents for engineering and superstructure elements for tender, followed by the construction issue and sales handover.Coordinate street naming with local authority, complete plot list and distribute internally and externally of the business.Obtain quotations from Management Companies, review, and provide recommendation for appointments.Monitor and report technical & development fees including S106 obligations.Ensure all Principal Designer roles are instructed as required, and internal SHE procedures are followed and maintained.Skills and experienceRelevant qualification in Design, Construction or Civil EngineeringExtensive experience working in a technical role at a residential house builderExperience delivering design for projects on time, to budget and quality standardsKnowledge of current building regulationsManagement of technical approvals and technical fees and cost to completeGood level of IT literacy with experience of AutoCAD, Outlook, Excel & Word,The company are offering a competitive salary along with a fully comprehensive package including a company car or car allowance, annual bonus scheme, healthcare, pension scheme, life assurance and various other employee benefits.If you have previous experience in a similar role within the residential sector and are looking for a new challenge, please contact Deena at Fawkes & Reece for a confidential chat or apply via the link.JBRP1_UKTJ
