About The RoleThe Pipefitter is required to deliver a high quality, consistent and competent Pipefitting service including making up sections of high and / or low pressure piping systems are ready for installation in accordance with Project / Company requirements, standards and procedures. To support overall delivery of company goals and schedule and to ensure that the entire work scope is completed in a safe manner ensuring no detrimental impact to personnel, fabric or environment.We are seeking a number of Pipefitters to join our construction team in Grangemouth to support an on-going TAR. We are looking for candidates that are available to start on the 5th January on NAECI Agreements.Responsibilities -To complete all Pipefitting work in accordance with company procedures and applicable standardsRead, understand and implement all applicable company / project policies, working practices and procedures, ensuring at all times that the scope is completed in accordance with company procedures, and to the highest standard of safetyComplete all work scope in accordance with applicable workpack / job card instructions, associated procedures and drawings / sketchesSelect length of stainless steel, steel alloy, iron, copper, aluminium or plastic piping and to cut it to the required size with hacksaw, pipe cutter or machinePrepare and position pipework and flanges for subsequent welding, alignment orientation, gaps, spacing, straightness whilst welding and arc weldingBend piping by machine or heat with blow lamp and bend by handJoin metal piping by soldering or thread cutting and screwing and plastic piping by cementing or fusing by hot air weldingForm piping from sheet metalCheck pipe preparations, tack welded joints, alignment, straightness and dimensional accuracyInstall prefabricated sections on siteInstallation of small bore tubingOperate trade required machinery including relevant workshops/site equipment associated with job requirementsOperate overhead cranes including basic slinging in a safe mannerCarry out Fire watch/Stand By dutiesAdhere to all safety requirements including safety checks of tools and equipmentUse of Oxy/fuel hand burning / heating / cutting equipmentProvide support to other trades/disciplines where required, or form part of an integrated multi-discipline teamUndertake appropriate Risk Assessments (RA) in order to complete work scope in a safe and controlled mannerAbout YouQualifications / Training Time Served / Modern Apprenticeship approved by City & Guilds or NVQ/SVQ Level 3, and / or relevant and recognised technical qualification approved by an appropriate awarding bodyMechanical Joint Integrity Certificate- MJI10ECITB approved SBT 01, 02 & 03 (Installation) & 04 (Testing)KT-PF (applicable to Pipefitters)CCNSG Safety PassportValid Driving LicenseRelevant Completions Certificate e.g. GoC/Orbit etc.(Preferably)Mechanical Joint Integrity Certificate - MJI18 & MJI19 (Preferably)Abrasive Wheels Awareness Training (Preferably)Overhead Pendant Crane Operation (Preferably)Experience / CompetencePrevious experience in a similar roleUnderstanding of relevant Oil & Gas Industry Codes and Standards relevant to roleReasonable written and spoken EnglishPersonal attributesOur GENES, our core values, define who we are, what we stand for and how we deliver.Go the extra mileEmpower our peopleNever get complacentEngage our partnersStep up and deliverIf this sounds like you, then you could be a perfect fit.About UsPD&MS has been engineering solutions in the energy industry and beyond since 2002, our ability to combine innovative ideas with technical expertise sets us apart.
