Job DescriptionDirector of SalesLocation: Glasgow Marriott HotelDepartment: Sales & MarketingReports to: General ManagerJob Type: Full-timeAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Director of Sales to lead and drive B2B revenue performance for our hotel (or portfolio of hotels). This is a senior commercial leadership role, responsible for proactively securing new business, growing existing accounts, and embedding a strong sales culture across the property.As a key member of the General Manager’s Executive Team, you will lead all on-property sales activity, maximise revenue opportunities across multiple segments, and ensure exceptional customer experiences that drive long-term loyalty.Key ResponsibilitiesDriving Revenue & Market GrowthLead all on-property commercial and sales activity as part of the Executive TeamProactively target Group & Catering, Sports, Entertainment, Business Travel, and Travel Trade segmentsDevelop and execute a robust Sales Intensity PlanLead Business Travel sales strategy in collaboration with Revenue Management teamsComplete RFPs within required deadlines (e.g. MarRFP, Lanyon, direct submissions)Upsell creative packages, including food and beverage, to maximise total revenueAnalyse market conditions, competitor activity, supply and demand, and economic trendsClose the most profitable opportunities aligned with property and market needsEnsure brand marketing standards and activations are executed on propertyCustomer Experience & Relationship ManagementManage complex, high-value accounts with significant customer expectationsBuild and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clientsDrive sales activity including sales calls, client entertainment, FAM trips, and trade showsStrengthen community relationships to grow group and catering opportunitiesDeliver service excellence throughout the entire customer journeyEnsure flawless handover of booked business for successful event and stay deliveryAct as a trusted advisor by understanding client needs and recommending tailored solutionsLeadership & CollaborationWork collaboratively with off-property sales teams (National, Global, Groups & Reservations)Coordinate sales efforts to ensure alignment and avoid duplicationManage relationships with key internal and external stakeholdersHold teams accountable for execution of proposals, contracts, and service deliveryAdditional DutiesConduct site inspections and client presentationsCreate and manage contracts as requiredUse internal systems (e.g. MGS) for reporting, resources, and insightsAbout YouExperience & EducationMinimum 2 years’ experience in hospitality sales and marketingand/orDegree or diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel & Tourism, or related fieldLeadership CompetenciesStrong communicator with professional presence and confidenceAdaptable and resilient in a fast-paced environmentProven ability to solve problems and make sound commercial decisionsResults-driven with strong planning and organisational skillsCollaborative leader who builds trust and high-performing teamsSales & Commercial SkillsStrong negotiation and closing abilityStrategic sales planning and execution experienceExcellent customer relationship management skillsStrong business and financial acumenComfortable working with CRM systems, RFP platforms, and standard office softwareWhy Join Us?Be part of a senior leadership team with real commercial influenceOpportunity to shape and lead the sales strategyDynamic, customer-focused environment with strong brand supportCompetitive salary and benefits packageReady to lead, inspire, and drive results?Apply now with your CV and take the next step in your sales leadership career.Compensation: To be discussed#J-18808-Ljbffr
