Job DescriptionDescriptionJob Title: Advanced Apprentice Manufacturing TechnicianLocation: Broad Oak, Portsmouth – Hampshire (For the first 12 months you will work within our Skills Development Centre located in Portsmouth Naval Base)Salary: Starting from £18,848 with annual progression through the scheme duration.What you’ll be doing:• Overhaul and manufacture components and assemblies found within our complex radar and underwater military products• Produce or re-furbish the components found in our underwater military products• Interpret drawings/specifications to plan work, ensuring you have the right tools, equipment and resources to complete the task to the required specification• Develop a detailed understanding of manufacturing and assembly techniques, to include, but not limited to, electrical wiring, mechanical fitting, printed circuit board rework and microelectronics processing• During the first year you will be based within our Skills Development Centre located in Portsmouth Naval BaseWhat Qualification will you get?• EAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering• At the end of the apprenticeship, you will obtain a nationally recognised Apprenticeship Completion CertificateBenefits:As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing & lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts – you may also be eligible for an annual incentive.The Maritime Team:With collaboration, innovation and a laser-like customer focus at its core, Maritime & Land Defence Solutions is growing a strong, long-term UK product and support business.
