Job DescriptionYour new company A Public Sector in Birmingham is currently looking to onboard a temporary Transport Manager to manage 1 of their waste and fleet depots in Birmingham. This is a full-time position with an ASAP start.Your new role We are seeking a CPC qualified Transport Manager to oversee waste and fleet operations on a temporary basis. This is a hands‑on, fully on‑site role covering depots across Birmingham, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations and compliance with transport regulations.You will act as the key liaison between operations and fleet, managing the fleet team, coordinating waste transport activities, and ensuring driver checks and compliance measures are consistently in place.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the fleet team across Birmingham depotsOversee daily transport operations for waste servicesAct as the liaison between operations and fleet, ensuring effective communication and coordinationEnsure driver checks, compliance, and safety standards are maintainedMonitor fleet performance and support operational efficiency improvementsProvide leadership and guidance to staff, ensuring service delivery meets council standardsWhat you'll need to succeed CPC qualification (essential)Proven experience in waste operations and fleet managementStrong leadership and organisational skillsAbility to work on‑site across multiple depots in BirminghamExcellent communication skills to liaise between operations and fleet teamsCommitment to compliance, safety, and service excellenceWhat you'll get in return This is a temporary assignment for 3 months with the potential for extension and also the potential for a permanent opportunity.
