Working within small class groups or on a 1:1 basis, you will use specialised support plans to help pupils meet their individual needs and achieve their full potential. (This role will Including progression to the role of Lead Teacher (QTS) on successful completion of the 12-week probationary period) Opportunity to work alongside a multidisciplinary team of behaviour analysts, speech & language therapists and occupational therapists allowing a holistic approach to pupil development Excellent staff wellbeing and support facilities Free Parking or Transport to and from Central GuildfordTraining & Development OpportunitiesA range of fully funded training pathways including behaviour analysis specific qualifications such as CABAS Teaching Ranks, Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT), Board Certified Behaviour Analysis certification (BCBA), UK Society for Behaviour Analysis certification UKBA (cert) and a Masters in High Incidence & Disabilities (worth up to £13,000)Responsibilities of the roleClass Teaching Provide support and teaching based on behaviour analysis to autistic pupilsCollect, record and analyse data to monitor progress and develop support plansInteract and participate with the pupils in the development of skills that support their social and emotional developmentLead and take part in educational visits and off-site activities with pupils (during school hours) Qualified Teaching TeamContribute to the design of an engaging school curriculum, providing differentiated long, medium and short-term plans Plan and deliver school-wide curriculum activities such as topic lessons and themed event/weeksOversee the implementation and evaluations of wider school curriculum plan Support the delivery of life skills programmes and entry level qualifications for students, including assessments, recording evidence and internal moderationContribute to team meetings and the schools newsletterTo be successful in this role you will need:Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teaching & Learning Status (QTLS) Candidate(For Early Careers Teachers (ECTs) - A minimum of 1 year of the supported induction process to have been completed in a mainstream setting)Teaching experience within the UK school system and an understanding of the National Curriculum in EnglandAn interest in and/or experience of working in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)Confident working with children who exhibit behaviours that challenge and supporting others with personal/intimate care where requiredStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise professionally with all stakeholdersAn understanding and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young peopleThe ability to perform tasks of a physical nature (often demanding) including twisting and stooping and working at a lower heightA commitment to Jigsaws ongoing training and professional development programme Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and discretionA positive, can-do attitudeWe are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk.
