This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with solid family law experience who is looking for long-term progression within a supportive and forward-thinking firm.The firm is particularly interested in candidates who demonstrate leadership potential and would be open to managing and supervising a team of junior paralegals in the future as the department continues to expand.Key ResponsibilitiesSupporting fee earners and partners across a broad range of private family law mattersAssisting with and progressing cases involving divorce, financial remedy, private children matters, cohabitation disputes, and related applicationsDrafting legal documentation including court applications, witness statements, schedules, correspondence, and bundlesConducting legal research, preparing chronologies, and assisting with case strategyLiaising with clients, counsel, courts, experts, and third parties with professionalism and sensitivityAttending meetings, conferences, and hearings alongside fee earners where requiredManaging files, including opening matters, conducting AML checks, diary management, and ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory proceduresMaintaining accurate attendance notes, case records, and client updatesAssisting on complex matters and taking increasing responsibility for progressing cases under supervisionSupporting the development of internal processes and mentoring junior paralegals as the team growsDemonstrating leadership capability with a view to stepping into a supervisory or team lead role in the futureRequirementsPrevious experience in family law (essential) — ideally 1+ years as a Paralegal or Legal AssistantStrong understanding of family law procedures and court processesExcellent drafting skills with strong attention to detailConfident communicator with the ability to deal sensitively with clientsStrong organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines in a busy environmentExperience preparing court bundles and handling disclosure is advantageousAmbition to progress and take on leadership or team management responsibilitiesWhat's on OfferCompetitive salary, depending on experienceHybrid working arrangement (3 days office-based / 2 days remote)Clear progression opportunities within the firmOpportunity to develop into a supervisory or paralegal management roleSupportive, collaborative, and specialist family law environmentOngoing training and professional development
