Job DescriptionYard Engineer BirminghamPermanent Up to £32k DOE An industry-leading power solutions provider is seeking a Yard Engineer to join their skilled and dedicated team. Operating nationwide, this organisation specialises in supplying reliable, sustainable generator solutions to a wide range of sectors including construction, infrastructure, utilities, and commercial environments. The RoleBased primarily in the yard, you will support the workshop and rental teams with the preparation, testing, servicing, and repair of generator sets. While the role is predominantly site-based, there may be occasional travel to customer locations. Key ResponsibilitiesPreparing, servicing, and maintaining generators for the hire fleetCarrying out repairs on generators at customer sites when requiredAssisting with general yard duties, including loading and offloading equipmentOperating a forklift truck as neededRe-booking generators delivered by third-party transportDelivering and collecting generators and ancillary equipment, including re-fuellingTaking part in the company’s on-call rotaMaintaining high standards of housekeeping, including yard areas and company vehiclesAdhering to Health & Safety policies and ISO 9001:2015 processes, contributing to continuous improvement initiativesSkills & Experience RequiredQualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Diesel Fitting, Plant, or similar (e.g., City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ)OR completion of an approved engineering apprenticeshipOR proven experience servicing diesel generatorsStrong fault-finding abilities and communication skillsForklift Truck Licence (preferred)Benefits/ SalaryUp to £32k DOEMonday- Friday 8am-5pmEmployee Ownership Trust bonus schemeTraining, upskilling, and clear career progressionCompany pension schemePrivate medical cover (with capped excess)Life assurance and access to wellbeing support services23 days holiday plus bank holidays (increasing with service)If this role is of interest to you then please contact Jodie Hodgson at Pertemps
