Tradewind Recruitment is proud to be supporting a well-established Alternative Provision school in Northampton that is seeking a committed Learning Support Assistant to join their dedicated team.This specialist setting provides a nurturing and therapeutic learning environment for students with:Significant mental health needs, including anxiety, depression, and school refusalEmotional and behavioural challenges that require patient and consistent supportPhysical difficulties that can affect engagement and classroom participationThe school offers a highly personalised curriculum designed to rebuild confidence, promote emotional wellbeing, and help students re-engage with learning at a pace that reflects their individual needs. Staff work with sensitivity, structure, and resilience to ensure each learner feels safe, understood, and supported.Your Responsibilities Will Include:Providing calm, consistent one-to-one or small-group supportSupporting personalised learning activities adapted to students' abilitiesEncouraging emotional regulation and helping pupils manage overwhelming momentsBuilding positive, trusting relationships with young people who may struggle to connectWorking collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staffTravelling between multiple Northampton sites depending on the daily staffing and student requirementsWe Are Looking For Someone With:Experience supporting individuals with mental health needs, behavioural challenges, or physical difficultiesA background in youth work, specialist education, mental health support, care settings, or similar environmentsStrong resilience, excellent communication skills, and a genuinely empathetic approachThe ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to rapidly changing situationsA full driving licence and access to a car (essential due to multi-site structure)If you are motivated by the chance to make a genuine difference - helping vulnerable young people take important steps forward in their education and wellbeing- this role offers a deeply rewarding career path.
