Job DescriptionCentral Recruitment is currently recruiting for Young People Support Workers for services in various locations across London. We provide staff on an ad hoc basis to a number of large housing associations, care and support organisations within supported accommodation and hostel services.We are recruiting for candidates with previous experience of working with young people with complex support needs including those related to homelessness, mental health and substance misuse issues. In these positions, the candidates are expected to have the ability to cope with customers who display challenging behaviour, and an understanding of the risks associated with specific service user groups.Pay rates range from £14.74 - £17 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay) and candidates are required to have a minimum of 12 months of paid experience with young people or young parents with multiple disadvantages.In this position, candidates are expected to provide effective day to day shift cover that supports the aims of the project, safeguards the residents and provides effective support within a harm minimisation and strengths and recovery framework.Interested candidates must be available for a minimum of 3 shifts per week across 7 days.Further requirements:In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria: * Current valid right to work in the UK * Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise) * A fully enhanced DBS registered on the DBS update service or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60) * Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing processHow to apply:If you feel that you fully meet the above outlined criteria for this role and would like apply for this post, please forward your CV for consideration.*Please note the outlined experience is the 'minimum' first stage criteria, and we will therefore be unable to consider your application unless you are able to demonstrate a relevant work history in line with this position
