The company employs c.4,100 employees across North America (1,600 employees) and Europe (2,500 employees.)The roleA vacancy has arisen for a Production Shift Leader at our Hull site (HU9).This is an ideal opportunity for a hands-on and motivational leader who can manage a team, troubleshoot issues, and maintain high standards of safety, productivity and quality across a busy 24/7 manufacturing site.You will oversee the operations on the factory floor, ensuring that production schedules are met efficiently and safely in collaboration with a team of colleagues to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer demand.Please note that the working pattern for this role consists of 12 hour shifts across days, nights and weekends.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and coordinate the activities of production team members, ensuring a consistent presence across operational areasLead by example in ensuring a safe and efficient work place is maintained at all times, championing efforts to enhance safety measuresEnsure that quality standards are maintained and issues addressed, with corrective action explored as necessaryAchieve daily and weekly production plan targets to satisfy customer service levelsIdentify any training needs and take an active role in the development of peopleSupport the Production Manager with the monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in respect of production output and people performance, addressing trends as necessary.Liaise with support functions to progress issues concerning production planning, resource and skill allocationDrive improvement in machine efficiency, resourcing levels and effective handover arrangementsContribute to the improvement of working procedures by constantly looking for solutions to ensure the best productivity results and create a culture where improvement suggestions are embracedAbout YouYou will have experience of supervising a team within a manufacturing environment with a track record of taking ownership and accountability of results delivered through others, as well as supporting their further development.You will be highly organised and adaptable, able to work well under pressure with strong problem solving abilities.You will be an effective communicator who can liaise with key stakeholders from across departments.You will take a keen interest in developing your expertise, both to strengthen your own personal development, and also support the growth of the business.Notwithstanding your experience to date, you will take pride in working with your team and other key individuals to deliver a more efficient, safe and clean working environment.What We Can Offer The Right CandidateCompetitive base salaryDiscretionary bonus7% employer contribution pension schemeLife assurance benefit of four times your annual salaryEligibility to participate in a Cycle to Work scheme following successful completion of your probationary periodAccess to an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) from day oneComplimentary breakfast items and fruit throughout the weekWe also host outside of work events that family members can join, making sure that hard work is recognised and rewarded.
