Are you a poultry farmer or layers specialist with real hands-on experience on farm?Do you understand flock performance, nutrition, and the day-to-day pressures producers face - and want to use that knowledge in a role where you're out on farms helping producers improve results?I'm supporting a well-established feed & nutrition business that is expanding its layers team across England & Wales. They're looking for someone who genuinely knows layers, not someone who can just "sell feed," but someone farmers will trust for practical advice.This is a specialist advisory role, not a transactional sales job.What the role looks likeWorking directly with commercial egg producers across England & WalesVisiting farms, discussing flock challenges, and offering tailored nutritional and performance adviceUsing your knowledge to help producers improve margin, bird health, and egg outputManaging around existing producers while also building a small number of new long-term accountsBeing a trusted point of contact for feed decisions, flock performance reviews, and technical supportWorking closely with technical teams and nutritionists to deliver best-in-class supportUsing performance data (Eggnomics or similar) to show producers where improvements can be madeRepresenting the business at industry events, producer meetings, and on-farm reviewsThis is ideal for someone who enjoys being on farm, problem-solving with producers, and building long-term relationships.Who this suitsYou'll be a strong fit if you have hands-on layers experience, ideally one or more of the following:Worked on a commercial layers farm (enriched, colony, free-range, organic, etc.)Managed or supervised flocksWorked as a farm manager, assistant manager, or layers unit leadWorked in poultry nutrition, production, or technical advisory rolesHave experience in performance optimisation, diets, hen health, or improving laying systemsCurrently in a commercial or on-farm role but want something more consultative and long-termIf you understand how decisions on nutrition, management, lighting, or flock behaviour impact production - this role will value that knowledge.RequirementsDeep understanding of layers, flock management, and the realities of commercial egg productionGood communication skills and the ability to build trust with producersWillingness to travel across England & Wales, with some overnight staysFull UK driving licenceCommercial mindset (training given if coming direct from farm)Why people join this businessYou get to step up from hands-on farm work into a more advisory, strategic roleYou're respected as a technical specialist, not just a salespersonYou work with producers who value practical knowledgeThe business has strong backing and an excellent reputation for service, technical support, and feed qualityThey offer full training, ongoing development, and the chance to shape their growth in England & WalesInterested?If you have hands-on layers experience and want a confidential chat about whether this could be a fit, feel free to get in touch.No CV needed initially - happy to talk through it first.
