Claims Adjuster – Employer's Liability / Public LiabilityLocation: Leeds or Chelmsford (Hybrid)Employer: Our clientContract: Full timeOverviewOur client is seeking a Personal Injury Claims Adjuster to join their Casualty team, focusing on employer's liability (EL) and public liability (PL) claims. You'll manage a varied caseload, work closely with internal and external stakeholders, and contribute to a collaborative, supportive and inclusive claims environment.Key ResponsibilitiesInvestigate and resolve EL/PL personal injury claims, delivering a high standard of technical claims handling with minimal leakage.Analyse and resolve policy coverage issues to ensure liability decisions are aligned with contractual commitments.Identify and pursue subrogation, contribution and other recovery opportunities where appropriate.Manage claims to economic settlement, in line with reserving philosophy, service standards and regulatory requirements.Respond to claims fees, advice and stakeholder queries within agreed timeframes.Escalate and record complaints in line with internal processes, ensuring fair customer outcomes.Maintain visibility and understanding of your claims portfolio and provide information to support monitoring, reporting and underwriting decisions.Reserve accurately and keep systems fully updated so that the company's position and liabilities are clear at all times.Handle your own caseload efficiently, ensuring timely, proactive and effective progress on all files.About YouExperience handling personal injury claims, preferably across EL and/or PL.Strong investigative skills and a structured approach to fact-finding and evaluation.Demonstrable experience dealing with policy coverage and liability negotiations.Clear and confident communicator, both written and verbal.Strong relationship management skills with internal stakeholders and external parties (e.g. brokers, panel firms, third parties).Comfortable using MS Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Benefits (Indicative)Our client offers a competitive rewards and benefits package which may include:30 days' annual leave with the option to purchase additional daysHybrid and flexible working arrangements (e.g. part-time, job share, compressed hours, subject to role and agreement)Pension scheme with employer contributionsPrivate medical insuranceFamily-friendly leave and policiesOptions for short-term remote work abroad (subject to policy)Cycle-to-work and broader wellbeing and lifestyle benefits(Exact benefits will be confirmed directly by the employer.)Inclusion & DiversityOur client is committed to fostering an inclusive working environment where colleagues feel respected, valued and able to be themselves.
