Due to our continued growth we are now recruiting for a Fuel System Lead Engineer to be based at our office/ our customer's site in Gaydon Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast-growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery. The Role:As a Fuel System Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of fuel system components and architecture across multiple vehicle platforms. This includes leading the design, development, validation, and integration of fuel tanks, lines, pumps, and associated control systems to meet performance, regulatory, and sustainability targets.You will operate within the Powertrain Engineering function, collaborating with cross-functional teams including Vehicle Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Suppliers to ensure robust and innovative fuel system solutions. Area of Responsibility Lead the design and development of fuel system components from concept to productionOwn the technical delivery of fuel system features aligned with programme milestonesEnsure compliance with global emissions and evaporative regulations (e.g. WLTP, EPA, CARB)Drive resolution of technical issues using structured problem-solving tools (e.g. 8D, FMEA)Manage supplier relationships and oversee component sourcing and validationSupport virtual and physical builds, including prototype and production phasesDeliver system-level DFMEA, DVP&R, and ensure alignment with customer's Product Creation Delivery System (PCDS)Collaborate with CAE teams to validate system performance and durabilityChampion sustainability and lightweighting initiatives within fuel system designProvide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineersKnowledge / ExperienceProven experience in fuel system engineering within automotive or related industriesStrong understanding of fuel system architecture, materials, and regulatory requirementsFamiliarity with CAD tools (e.g. CATIA V5/V6), PLM systems, and simulation toolsExperience with system engineering principles including V-Cycle and ASPICEExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsDegree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Systems Engineering (or equivalent)Desirable AttributesExperience with hybrid or electrified powertrains and fuel system integrationKnowledge of alternative fuels and future propulsion technologiesSix Sigma or Green Belt certificationPassion for innovation and continuous improvementIn return for bringing your expertise to our business we offer a competitive salary along with excellent benefits including:· Pension Scheme – We match employee contribution up to 5% of salary· 25 Days' Holiday· Private Health Care· Tata Jaguar Land Rover Privilege Scheme - up to 20% off new JLR vehicles· Group Income Protection· Health Assured – Employee Assistance Program· Group Life Assurance· Health Shield – Private Health Cash PlanIf you are passionate about bringing innovation to the projects you work on and want to join a global company, then this is the place for you.Tata Technologies: Engineering a better world.
