Job DescriptionBIM Lead - Building ServicesThe BIM Lead will be responsible for managing and coordinating Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes across building services projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and delivering high-quality digital models. This position requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.Key ResponsibilitiesThe BIM Lead will implement BIM standards, protocols, and workflows in line with ISO 19650 and company procedures.Oversee the creation, coordination, and integration of BIM models for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.The BIM Lead will manage the BIM team, providing guidance and mentoring to junior staff and BIM technicians.Conduct clash detection and resolve coordination issues between building services and other disciplines using tools such as Navisworks.Ensure accurate data management within BIM models for asset lifecycle and facilities management.The BIM Lead will liaise with clients, attend coordination meetings, and act as the primary point of contact for BIM-related queries.Monitor project progress, budgets, and deliverables to ensure compliance with programme requirements.Drive innovation in BIM processes and support the adoption of new technologies.Prepare and maintain BIM execution plans and ensure adherence across all projects.The BIM Lead will conduct quality checks and audits on BIM models to maintain accuracy and consistency.Experience & KnowledgeExtensive experience in BIM coordination within building services (MEP).Strong understanding of Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD MEP, and other BIM tools.Knowledge of UK BIM standards and building services design principles.Familiarity with CIBSE Guides, IEE Regulations, CDM Regulations, and British Standards.Experience in managing multidisciplinary projects and leading BIM teams.Education & SkillsDegree or HNC in Building Services Engineering or related discipline.Excellent communication and leadership skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.The BIM Lead role offers an exciting opportunity to shape digital delivery in building services, lead a skilled team, and contribute to innovative design solutions.
