Job DescriptionSenior Electronics EngineerCambridge | 5 days on siteUp to £75k + benefitsReady to join a business where you will make an immediate impact and drive company success? This is a unique, hands-on electronics role working on a complex, safety-critical medical device that will directly impact patient outcomes. You’ll be part of a small, highly capable engineering team developing electronics from early architecture through to production, so experience across full-lifecycle is essential. The work is broad and technical. One day you might be deep into PCB-level power electronics or motor drives, the next you’re shaping system-level architecture, reviewing EMC risk, or bringing up first prototypes on the bench. If you enjoy owning designs end to end and working closely with mechanical and software engineers, this will suit you well. What you’ll be doingDesigning and developing PCB-level electronics, from schematic through to manufactureHands-on bring-up, test and debug of prototypes, including development of production test methodsWorking directly with suppliers on PCB fabrication and cable assembliesDesigning electronics that are manufacturable, testable and serviceableContributing to the build-out of an in-house electronics labInfluencing system and sub-system electronic architecture and technology choicesEnsuring designs meet EMC and safety requirements for medical devicesProducing clear technical documentation and working from formal requirementsCollaborating closely with mechanical, systems and software engineersMentoring more junior engineers as the team growsWhat they’re looking forDegree (or equivalent experience) in Electronic EngineeringStrong experience in PCB design and electronic system architectureConfident using tools such as Altium DesignerTrack record of taking electronics from concept through to productionSolid experience with EMC compliance and exposure to medical safety standards (IEC 60601 or similar)Clear communicator who documents work properlyMost importantly, they are looking for somebody who is committed and thrives in challenging, but rewarding environments - culture match for this role is essential.
