About the roleWe have anoutstanding opportunity for an experienced Technical Programme Manager to joinTesco's Programme and Strategy team, part of the wider Data and Analytics team.We are a true"hub and spoke" team engaging and managing dependencies with a vastnumber of teams within Tesco as well as third parties. Our role is to ensuredata availability and quality in one central repository whilst supporting thedelivery of key Tesco business priorities through our analytics, visualisationand data science programmes.This role will beresponsible for establishing and managing programmes of work covering our DataScience, Analytics and BI tools and data engineering teams. You will be responsible forTechnical ProgrammeManagers (TPM) work with teams that deliver complex, cross-functionaltechnology programmes that support colleagues and help serve our customersbetter. They work collaboratively, influence Product, Engineering, and businesscolleagues to deliver value quickly and often.Whilst specificresponsibilities will be dependent upon the changing needs of the Tescobusiness, the following provides an overview of the role's key responsibilitiesand measures:Deliver complex programmes with multiplebusiness and technical risks that will impact the success of key Tescobusiness prioritiesEstablish new or improve existing deliverymethodology to deliver the programme goalsInitiate and shape programmes with ambiguousscope and uncertain delivery approachCreate and track a plan to deliver theprogramme goals, including the technical implementation planProvide expert advice and guidance onprogramme delivery supporting Engineering/Product teamsUnderstand trade-offs in software delivery,using experience and influencing skills to drive consensus with theEngineering and Product teams to obtain the best value and solutionAble to foresee potential risks and issues,establish a process, facilitate discussions, and manage escalationsAct on opportunities to adopt trends and newconcepts in programme and product deliveryAble to understand a technical architecture tobe able to foresee the impact on dependencies, delivery timelines andimplementation plansHave good knowledge of engineering bestpractices and practical infrastructure implementations to appreciatedelivery challengesAsk probing questions of Engineering andProduct teams to ensure solutions meet programme objectivesUnderstand technology concepts, grasp new onesquickly and appreciate their implications on deliveryEffectively manage major incidents, ensuringstakeholders are updated with the right information to drive the correctdecisionsCollaborate with the Product and Engineeringteams to define annual budgetary requirementsBuild positive relationships with suppliers& external stakeholders to deliver software or professional servicesProactively research trends and development intechnology, and programme and product deliveryCoach peers and other roles, teaching whererequired, on methodologies and programme management tools and coach/mentoron leadershipTake a leading role in the recruitment processand make final recruitment decisionsYou will needKey Skills andExperience An ideal candidatemust have demonstrated below key skills in their current and past roles:Have a proven record of accomplishment indelivering technology and/or infrastructure; having done so acrossmultiple teams in multiple geographiesHave experience of building crediblerelationships and influencing senior management & leadership teamsStrong Project, Stakeholder & Programmemanagement skillsExcellent reporting skills for programs andfinancial forecastingExcellent communication & influencing skillsand adaptability to changesWhats in it for you?We're all about the little helps.
