THE POSITIONOur roster has an opening with your name on itOur Permits & Eligibility team is responsible for authorizing every deposit, withdrawal, and bet that is placed at FanDuel. Our Tier 1 System requires the highest level of availability as any impact to our system can impact the rest of the company. You will be leading the team responsible for building and maintaining our Permits & Eligibility platform that supports the foundational products of FanDuel like FanDuel Sportsbook, FanDuel Casino, FanDuel Racing, and FanDuel Daily Fantasy Sports. We use AWS, K8s, Terraform, SQL Technologies & Java amongst other languages and technologies.As a Software Engineering Senior Manager at FanDuel, you can develop your skills and experience as the manager of an Agile software engineering team. You will directly manage a team of Engineers and be accountable for the customer experience, project prioritization, software quality, and system maintenance of the services you own. You set the example for our values and help engineers grow by encouraging them to contribute to cross-team technical discussions, supporting their ideas, and empowering them to make decisions. Most of all, you are accountable for the experience, management, and development of the Engineers that report to you.If you're looking to exercise and develop your existing core leadership skills both from a technical and people management point of view, then this is the position for youTHE GAME PLANEveryone on our team has a part to playManage, identify, and provide opportunities for Software Engineers. Help them progress in their careers Work with Senior & Staff Engineers to deliver a technical vision with an eye on for Customer satisfaction and security. Proactively identify technology gaps and opportunities, mitigate risks created through complexity (technical and regulatory). Work with your Product partner to build, prioritize & deliver your teams' roadmap, communicating blockers and progress throughout the project lifecycle. Measure, own and drive predictability through Operational Excellence and transparency through data and KPIs. Own your software. You build it and you run it. Help guide your team to deliver whilst providing appropriate support for our users. Help scope and define new solutions to problems while influencing the roadmap and ensuring we delivery truly viable features and Products. Understanding of various Agile flavors and which situations are most appropriate to use them. Good communication, presentation, and facilitation skills. Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive. Demonstrated abilities driving operational excellence and best practices. A strong technology background delivering software as an individual contributor or manager. Understanding of modern architectures, design patterns, and platform nuances. Able to communicate technical concepts simply and successfully, to both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience of writing distributed highly scalable and available backend systems & APIs. Good citizenship, stakeholder, and team management. You'll exemplify our company behaviors.
