**Assistant Director - Infrastructure**:
**Job description**
- We are looking to recruit an experienced leader to help us deliver our outcomes in the infrastructure agenda, which covers our Strategic Housing Plan and Highways and Transportation Plan.
- This is a key role in leading a diverse and talented team forwards to meet the challenges ahead. As the Assistant Director, you will focus our resources to achieve our ambition to help to facilitate sustainable growth by enabling and supporting high quality transport and housing infrastructure to make North East Lincolnshire a place where people want to live, work, and visit and supporting the transition to net zero. You will support the delivery of the Housing Plan objectives and overall vision, delivering on key strategies/plans through appropriate engagement, consultation, and joint working with stakeholders.
- You will lead your team so that internal and external services enhance our reputation for high performance and grow pride in place. These services are highly valued by our residents and vital to the local economy and growth agenda.
- The role includes responsibility for:
- To lead across the Council and with our delivery partner Equans on all issues relating to strategic and operational highways issues, strategic and operational transport issues and flood prevention.
- To lead the Council’s Housing Programme and coordinate activity to ensure the programme delivers effectively and contributes to the strategic direction of the Council.
- To ensure effective planning, development and delivery of housing programmes and projects, including the delivery of new homes, working in partnership with Homes England.
- To ensure effective engagement with local and strategic partners.
- To lead and be accountable for the delivery of the priority actions and outcomes identified in the Outcomes Framework and Business Plans so that the council's day to day business achieves clear outcomes for housing related services and functions.
- North East Lincolnshire is at an exciting point in its journey to deliver on our priorities of stronger economy and stronger communities. Opportunities posed by the growing Energy Estuary, Humber Freeport, as well as continued urban regeneration and national levelling up initiatives provide the foundation for an ambitious regeneration agenda. We have Masterplans for both Grimsby and our resort town of Cleethorpes, setting out the vision and opportunities to drive thriving urban centres and bring the resort forward as the premier destination on the Lincolnshire coast.
- Our plans have been recognised by Government and supported over £70m of investment into the borough, including a recently announced £38.4m Levelling Up bids for Cleethorpes and Grimsby. Our plans include work with Homes England to bring affordable and sustainable housing into Grimsby town centre along with green and public spaces and attractions. As an engaging leader your ability to motivate and develop a team will be instrumental in leading programmes and change initiatives to deliver better outcomes for our place.
- Working with the Director of Economy, Environment and Infrastructure as part of the senior management team, you will be critical in the delivery of outcomes for our communities. You will be responsible for the operational and strategic delivery of these services, showing a flair and talent for both service delivery and robust financial management.
- We would also be grateful if you could let us know if you will require any special provision as a result of any disability should you be called for interview.
