**Salary: £48,747 pa inc LW rising in annual increments to £51,783 pa. In addition, this post’s salary currently attracts a market supplement.**

This is an exciting opportunity to join Lambeth’s Policy and Place-shaping team and support the Council’s ambitious Planning service as it embraces the digital agenda and responds to national changes to the planning system. The team is driven by a mission to be the best - this cascades from leadership down to graduate hires. Every member is expected to maintain high standards and ensure that planning advice is sound, reasonable, and builds on the legacy of Lambeth’s history.

**About the role**

**What you’ll be doing**:
This role is an important part of our Planning Policy team and we’ll be supporting you to share your ideas, opinions, and thoughts on planning policy work. Typical duties include:

- to assist the strategic planning and regeneration process by: taking a lead on the formulation of the Council’s planning policies and Development Plan Documents
- managing and contributing to work relating to the monitoring, evaluating and review of policies, including research and information on their operation
- organising and carrying out public consultation; providing advice and support on development management and regeneration matters, including infrastructure plans and neighbourhood plans
- preparation of supplementary planning documents and Article 4 directions
- inputting into development projects the preparation of site proposals and development briefs
- to take a lead role in the preparation of development briefs and site policies for key development sites in the Borough, as required.
- to manage professional planners within the Planning Policy team and provide support to the Planning Policy Manager as required.
- to develop a personal Learning & Development plan for yourself (with line manager support) so the Team can support your growth and learning at every level of your career journey.
