An opportunity has arisen within a well respected, key business group in the UK for a Government Affairs Adviser. Make UK play a crucial part in acting as the voice of manufacturing and providing essential business support and contributing to the forward movement of the sector.

This role will see you engaging with key parliamentary figures and stakeholders, building relationships and encouraging positive interactions to support on campaigns and policy goals. Based in the heart of Westminster, you would be based out of Make UK’s sleek offices with the ability to work on a hybrid basis.

**Key responsibilities to include**:

- Providing support on political engagement on a range of policy areas
- Leading on parliamentary monitoring and bill lobbying campaigns, focusing on legislation that will have an impact on the manufacturing industry
- Drafting briefings on a range of topics
- Leading on regional campaigning and supporting Make UK’s wider teams in organizing meetings, site visits and roundtable events with politicians across England and Wales
- Representing Make UK at key meetings including the All Party Parliamentary Group
- Providing support to Head of Government Affairs as required in organizing the annual National Manufacturing Dinner Conference and Dinner
- Event organisation with high profile figures
- Providing secretariat to the Manufacturing Alliance group, and coordinating meetings and campaign activity

**About you**:

- A graduate with some considerable experience working in a parliamentary or public affairs environment
- Excellent understanding of Westminster Parliamentary processes
- Excellent written communication skills
- Personable and able to build relationships with key stakeholders
- Media experience would be beneficial, but not essential
- Willing to travel and work outside of normal office hours on occasion
