**Job overview**:
To provide clerical and clinical support for the Right Start & School Nursing Team under the direction of the Right Start / School Nursing Team Leader.

**Main duties of the job**:
Contributing to the delivery of the Early Years offer and Healthy Child Programme

Measure children’s heights, weights, and plot centiles after the completion of training and assessment of competence

Assist the Team in providing a health promoting and health education service for children and families.

Maintain the stock of stationary and other resources used by the Team in the delivery of the service.

Report complaints, accidents, and untoward incidents according to Trust policy.

Attend and participate in team meetings.

To actively promote engagement and participation.

To report signs of child neglect / abuse to the school nurse immediately

Work as part of an integrated team following agreed protocols.

Deal with issues of a sensitive nature (Child Protection) observing security and confidentiality following Policies and Procedures laid down by the Trust.

Provide cover for colleagues during annual leave and sickness absence.

Ensure telephone calls and messages are accurately recorded and responded to and queries dealt with appropriately

Contact clients to make appointments and ensure that the correct administration processes are undertaken/followed up.

Produce health education material if required

Record data as requested for service development and audit purposes.

Identify and maintain stock levels of consumables required within the service

Organise the distribution and return of core programme information, including questionnaires and consent forms

- Good standard of education to include GCSE English and Maths at C or above (or equivalent) IT qualification
- NVQ Level 2 in Child Care or equivalent.

- Good organisation skills Able to organise own day to day work
- Understanding of safeguarding
- On the job training relating to work procedures
