**Job description**:
**About the**Commercial Operations - Policy Team**:
In this role you will contribute to the delivery of commercial excellence for your department by leading the shaping of organisational and ministerial policies from a commercial perspective. You will manage the design, development and implementation of commercial policy and oversee operational management reviews, risk management and ensure team conducts independent audits in order to ensure that all appropriate controls are in place to guarantee compliance and high-quality delivery with Government commercial policies. You will act as the focal point for MOD Centre and Cabinet Office commercial policy initiatives, communicating these to DIO Commercial delivery areas, requesting their input and feeding this back to the relevant central organisation.

**Responsibilities**
- Raise any issues presented by MOD and Cabinet Office policy initiatives to commercial delivery and operational outputs to the relevant point of contact, seeking approval of senior DIO Commercial management as required
- Be the Commercial Policy lead for stakeholders and customer to engage with the Commercial department with a focus on improvement to delivery, risk management, problem solving and engagement to ensure that the customer requirements are met, providing expert commercial advice
- Accountable to the portfolio lead for the leadership and management of the Commercial Policy team
- Lead the team, ensuring an overview of activity, and in accordance with DIO and MOD/GCO guidance and policies
- Ensure delivery of monthly policy update and drop in and snack sessions
- Working with stakeholders from across the business to support the shaping and implementation of organisational and ministerial policies, through producing communications on updates on key developments in MOD Commercial Policy for dissemination to DIO Commercial Staff and ensuring the content of the webpage is relevant and current

**Essential Criteria**
- You must become a qualified Commercial Officer to Practitioner Level within 18 months of joining the organisation. This means you will have to study to achieve CIPS Level 4, and sit a MOD accreditation panel
- Will undertake travel to relevant MOD locations on occasion
- Knowledge of different types of commercial agreement structures and the function and purpose of key legal terms. Experience of implementing policy and writing about policy matters
