Senior Noise Pollution Officer

Recroot are currently looking for a Senior Noise Pollution Officer to join Hillingdon Council, starting asap, in an ongoing contract.
The post holder will lead on noise and regulatory work under the Planning Acts/Environmental Protection Act 1990 & Control of Pollution Act 1974, including:
But their workload will also include:
- Managing complex nuisance cases within the Environmental Protection Act 1990 relating to commercial premises
- Processing Section 61 Application Consents under the Control of Pollution Act 1974 and providing technical assistance in relation to breaches
- Leading on Acoustics and Noise Control Engineering cases requiring in-depth/expert knowledge
- Preparing formal notices under the EPA 1990
- Acting as the Council’s Environmental Protection representative at liaison / forum meetings
- Developing strategies and policies to identify quiet and tranquil areas
- Working with neighbouring boroughs to assist in the monitoring and scrutiny of noise impacts from Heathrow Airport
The postholder is urgently required to address an increase in complex noise and regulatory permit issues, which have in part been met recently by use of consultants, but this is no longer considered the most economical or efficient approach given the volumes of urgent work coming forward.
The role will currently be three days a week with work on HS2 to be paid for by HS2 Ltd.
