**The Opportunity**
IPSD has an opening for a New Technology Lead, located in the United Kingdom primarily working from our Peterborough Campus. As the New Technology Lead, you drive an innovative and strategic culture to define and evaluate concepts for the future IPSD products.

You will lead new technology projects, working alongside highly talented engineers, to provide creative ideas and concept selections to meet future requirements. You will have opportunity to collaborate globally across Caterpillar, working with partners in Research, Systems, Components, Electronics and Product teams to enable world class solutions to be selected for product development and brought to market.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

- Support and execute the IPSD technology strategy vision, providing innovation and strategic thinking to deliver across all workstreams of the technology roadmap. Working globally, to drive alignment and knowledge sharing across IPSD to achieve world class technology solutions.
- Lead, own and contribute to New Technology projects across a wide range of disciplines from Engine System Technologies to Data Solutions to Intelligent Methodology practices. Using innovative idea creation, drive delivery of concepts through evaluation and demonstration phases for adoption across the IPSD business.
- Collaborate with New Technology Experts and Performance System Architects within the Performance Systems Team to align ideas and projects with the IPSD Technology Strategy roadmap and to aid selection of new technologies for New Product Introduction across IPSD platforms, fundamental to sustaining the future development of IPSD products.
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to a team of highly engaged and talented engineers within the Performance Systems team, ensuring a collaborative environment promoting innovation and creative thinking.
- Align technology solutions to the ISPD Product Strategy, and through collaboration with product and customer facing teams, understand critical customer requirements and expectations for future IPSD products.
- Drive strong collaboration across key partners in Research, Systems Engineering, Component Engineering, Electronics, Product, and Application teams.
- Communicate across IPSD, the findings and recommendations for technology solutions and strategies through project reviews, discussion forums and publication of white papers.
- Through creation of novel and intelligent best practices, drive improvement ideas and methodology into processes used by the Performance Systems Team through collaboration and engagement with process owners and experts.
- Decisions may significantly impact product performance, durability, reliability, quality and serviceability; warranty; cost of non-quality; patents; products or processes; technology; costs; sales; and customer perceptions or may lead revolutionary technology change.
- Have strong communication, leadership, project management and business management skills.

**Required Qualifications & Experience**:

- An accredited Engineering/Science /Technology, Bachelors/Masters degree or PhD
- Demonstrated experience with innovate techniques delivering creation of technology concept ideas through to demonstration against requirements.
- Self-starter with strong communication, technical leadership, project management and business management skills.
- Able to communicate technical information effectively with team members and others in the work group, as well employees in other units, customers, and suppliers.
- Ability to build effective relationships across a matrix organization
