Job description

We are seeking to increase our team of Governing Board Meeting Casual Clerks.

You will be working with a strong, professional team which is committed to enhancing the life chances of pupils and their families across the Wakefield District. You will be employed on a casual basis and work will be offered as and when it is available. You will have the flexibility to control how many meetings you chosse to facilitate.

Duties will include:

- providing accurate, objective and detailed advice to Governors on a wide range of specialist and often complex matters, including the legal responsibilities, constitutional arrangements and procedures relating to Governing Boards, current issues facing schools/academies and governing boards and recommended responses and relevant good practice;
- providing clear, accurate, prompt and thorough minutes of the meeting, in line with legal requirements and expectations of Ofsted inspections and Schools Financial Values Standards self-evaluation.

If you meet these requirements then we want to hear from you. Previous experience of clerking meetings is desirable although relevant and ongoing training will be provided through job shadowing, training sessions and support from the Council’s School Governor Services team.
