Housing Solutions Domestic Abuse Officer

This is a new role in the council which will provide advice and assistance to service users accessing Housing Solutions Services, who are experiencing or in fear of domestic abuse. The role will work closely with Middlesbrough Council Housing Solutions team, Children and Adult services and Domestic Abuse Specialist services to ensure effective delivery of the Council’s duty to prevent and relieve homelessness and new duty to provide access to the safe accommodation which will be introduce when Domestic Abuse Bill is implemented.

The role will be based with Housing Solutions team, but it will work in partnership with specialist domestic abuse providers to ensure that service users experiencing both domestic abuse and homelessness are provided with effective coordinated support. It provides an exciting opportunity to work alongside a range of services who will form part of a new integrate model and will strengthen the referral process and pathways for domestic abuse and homelessness inform how services best work together to protect and support domestic abuse victims.
