**Financial Controller**
Are you an experienced financial controller looking for an exciting new opportunity? We are delighted to present this Financial Controller role for a rapidly growing Trust, leading and managing multiple academies in the education sector. The Trust are lookingfor someone who can bring expertise to the role along with sharing their core values of integrity and excellence. They believe by providing a supportive and caring environment for staff members and students alike it will help to ensure excellence can be achieved.
As Financial Controller you will be responsible for managing the central finance accounting function of the Trust and ensure that the Trust operates good financial governance in line with the requirements of the Academies Handbook, the Trusts Financial DelegatedAccountability Framework (DAF), internal and external policy and legislation.
This role requires the presentation of clear and concise financial information in both verbal and written form to a variety of audiences including the production of the annual statutory accounts return for the ESFA and Companies House.
**Responsibilities for this Financial Controller role will include but not be limited to**:
- Managing the Accounting function finance team
- Responsible for ensuring that all Shaw Education Trust academies comply with all relevant laws and regulations and statutory requirements within areas of responsibility
- Accountable for the accurate delivery of statutory returns, including (but not limited to) statutory accounts, VAT, Corporation tax, Gift Aid and national statistic returns
- Responsible for the monthly delivery of the Management / Trust Board pack financials to include both financial elements and narrative consolidation for COO review
- Responsible for monthly reconciliation of debtors, creditors, cash flow and bank transactions, in order to ensure audit and Trust financial regulations compliance
- Responsible for the submission of all VAT tax and regulatory/compliance issues on behalf of the Trust ensuring the Chief Operating and Financial Officer is aware of any reportable issues
- Accounting Qualification ideally ACCA /CIMA
- Solid technical accounting experience with good commercial acumen
- Proven experience of working with computerised financial and management information systems
- Ability to analyse and interpret complex financial information, assess the implications and identify corrective action.
- Previous experience working in a similar role within this sector
- Current enhanced DBS is extremely advantageous

**Details of this Financial Controller role are**:
Working hours/ days: Monday - Friday 9-5
**Salary**: Grade 12, £50,608 - £54,646
Duration: Permanent
Location: Kidsgrove, Staffordshire
Previous experienced of the role within the education sector is desirable due to the nature of the role.
