This post is funded from national VBHC funding because of a successful Business Case submission. The post is a CWM wide post, with the base for this role being in the Bridgend area.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding 7 day Alcohol Care Service by becoming a valuable member of this growing team in an Associate Practitioner role. If you have an interest in working with patients with alcohol disorders and their treatment we are looking to hear from you.
The purpose of this role is to provide person centred care, prompt support, advice, and education to the general wards to build knowledge and skills of staff within these settings in the care and treatment of patients for alcohol related admissions
The post holder will provide high level support in the provision of quality interventions to meet the needs of patients requiring nursing and clinical care, as an RN assistant and will operate as a valued member of a multidisciplinary team.
Every day will bring new challenges and we are looking for someone who has a passion for improving the lives of patients with alcohol disorders. You will need to have a genuine empathy for our patients.
To provide high level support to the RN in the provision of quality care and interventions to meet the needs of patients, requiring clinical care within the hospital/ward environment.
To provide clinical support to implement planned care to patients under the indirect supervision of Registered Nurses.
To work within a designated multidisciplinary team but with the ability to work independently as required.
To undertake clinical tasks e.g. cannulation, venepuncture.
To participate in case conferences and case review meetings.
Conduct assessments of need, risk and motivation and make onward referrals to specialist services.
Provide patients and their families with information and advice verbally and through providing relevant literature.
Liaise with other health and social care professionals where necessary and appropriate.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
