The above vacancy has arisen within our commercial department. The purpose of this role is to plan, source and order purchase parts and materials for customers, ensuring compliance with specification, lead times and prices. Developing and building good customer relationships.

The duties will include:
- Prepare material enquiries based on the customer’s bill of material and distribute to appropriate suppliers
- Compile and analyse quotations from suppliers ensuring that all necessary requirements are being met
- Place orders with suppliers based on best price and delivery to meet group requirements
- Negotiate project-based reductions/terms
- Utilise Q-Pulse quality system for concessions/IRRs relating to material suppliers and resolve associate issues between customer and supplier
- Monitor and record cost savings
- Excellent communication skills are required for dealing with suppliers to optimise and/or negotiate best pricing and deliveries
- Assist VCL sales team when obtaining supplier costs for either raw materials or sub contract services as required
- Assist QA Dept in resolving certification issues
- Participate in weekly production meeting to ensure orders with suppliers are within suitable timescales as required

- Experienced in purchasing/procurement within an engineering environment

Experienced in dealing with customers either face to face or remotely

Have good communication skills for negotiation purposes

Experience of Microsoft Office package

Good communication and time management skills

Good organisational skills with the ability to multi-task

Able to use own initiative and be self-motivated

Can work efficiently and effectively as both part of a team or independently

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £32,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
