**Your Role**:
**Your Responsibilities**:
As the Assistant Controller, your responsibilities include:
- Oversee and manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, with a focus on manufacturing specific reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with budget holders to provide information or devise spend schedules to aid with future budgeting periods.
- Review variances to budget or forecast and update future forecasting submissions, but also aid the ability of budget holders on how they can monitor this.
- Advising on credit limit decisions for all customers and referring to Finance Director when necessary.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities by providing financial insights related to manufacturing costs.
- Conduct regular cost analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiency improvements.
- Monitor and analyse inventory levels, ensuring accurate valuation and timely reconciliation.
- Collaborate with the production team to gather and analyse data for production cost tracking and variance analysis.
- Coordinate with external auditors during the year end audit process and address manufacturing specific audit inquiries.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
- To generate and process the payroll/bonus journal entries on to the ERP system, and reconciling the Balance Sheet accounts accordingly.
- To provide support to the Finance Director for period end duties for the North American business units.
- Other ad hoc duties as required.
**Travel**:
- Travel is required to Pulsar Measurement site locations on an as required basis.
**Your background**:
- Qualified accountant with considerable experience in different types of entities (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
- Proven experience in a similar role within the manufacturing sector, with a strong understanding of manufacturing accounting principles and cost analysis.
- Good working understanding of Epicor or a similar ERP system.
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Proven background in reporting for complex and different sized entities, with knowledge of UK GAAP and US GAAP reporting requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Possesses an exceptional work ethic, ability to multi-task and flexibility to accommodate a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
