Operations Manager

**First Bus are looking for an Operations Manager to join us in beautiful Cornwall**

As Operations Manager, you will be joining First South West which operates over 300vehicles on 80 routes, serving the Cornwall and Devon area. You will be responsible for 300colleagues and a fleet of 142buses, helping people get to all of life's destinations.As Operations Manager, you will also be responsible for local bus service, Truronian Private Hire and Adventures by Bus.

**What will you be doing?**

Reporting into the Head of Operations, you will;
- Ensure positive working relationships are maintained between all departments, including operations, commercial and engineering functions
- Effectively manage your teams in areas of development, absence management and compliance
- Analyse and manage information, data insights and systems to ensure continuous improvement of service performance
- Manage the Service Delivery team, actively travelling to all depots in your area
- Uphold effective working relationships with recognised trade union representatives and officials
- Deliver agreed plans and budgets, including established level of service and service quality, ensuring cost efficient delivery of a safe, punctual service
- Ensure staff planning at the depot meets the operating requirements of the business
- Manage and plan collision reduction and staff/passenger injury reduction

**What are we looking for?**
- In receipt of, or willing to study for your Certificate of Professional Competence in Passenger Transport (CPC)
- Capacity to manage and commute between multi-site operations, providing cover when required
- Proven leadership skills are essential to provide strategic and day to day direction to your team and be an effective manager of collective relationships in a unionised environment
- Experience in people management, driving engaged and high performing teams along with mentoring and coaching skills
- Customer centric values, leading and delivering an excellent customer experience, whilst looking for new ways to improve
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills, with confidence to challenge and question
- A passion for safety and driving to deliver a high performing safety behavioural culture
- Financial and budgeting experience with ability to analyse data and communicate results
- Aptitude to build and maintain stakeholder relations, indicative of a professional leader
