Purchasing & Demand Planner / Newcastle / £35,000 per annuM/Full time / Permanent
In this newly created role you will be responsible transforming the way our client manage forecasting, stock and ordering. You will become a super user on the company’s MRP system and look to fully integrate and automate its functions. You will plan, forecast and schedule purchase orders, minimise out of stocks, keep within budget and mitigate supply risk.
This role is predominately based in the office in Newcastle, however, after completion of a successful 6 month probationary period, you can work can 2 days from home and 3 days in the office.
Key responsibilities include:
- Automation of the stock forecasting, management and ordering process
- MRP maintenance and the manipulation of data to optimise stock positions
- Initiating and driving a statistical forecasting plan in conjunction with the Sales team and their quarterly focuses.
- Analysing working practices to suggest and make changes to improve efficiencies of working
- Reporting forecasts and purchase orders to suppliers showing accuracy and integrity.
- Purchase order placement and expediting to meet stock and customer requirements
- Building supplier relationships to negotiate best price and quality.
- Facilitating a resolution for out of stock situations through accurate data analysis and strong supplier liaison
- Accurate new product set up in conjunction with the sales and marketing team
- To maintain open and realistic communications with Key Liaisons regarding purchasing, supply & demand.
- Identifying opportunities to drive continuous improvement and drive best practise whilst delivering the best customer service experience.
- Demonstrating a supportive peer behaviour
- Actively participating in team meetings and company communications
Key skills and experience required:
- At least 2 years’ experience is a similar role.
- Previous experience in setting up a MRP system essential.
- Highly proficient in using excel and ERP/MRP systems (vlookup, formulas, pivot tables and graphs).
- Experience of worldwide sourcing & procurement.
- Experience of shipping & logistics, intercoms and commodities.
- Experienced in sustainable sourcing and regulations.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Highly focused and capable of sustaining a fast pace in a dynamic environment.
- A team player with a high level of dedication to fulfil obligations.
- A vision for continuous improvement with an eye for detail.
- Effective Supplier and stakeholder liaison.
- Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to organise and use Microsoft Office tools.
