**Location**: Head Office, Lockerbie

**Contract**: Full Time, Permanent

**Hourly Rate**: Competitive

**Hours of Work**:Monday to Friday, 6.30 am - 3 pm (40 hpw)

**PURPOSE OF ROLE**
As a Yard Operative, you will be responsible for working as part of a team assisting with day to day operations within the Robinsons yard and stores, to ensure high standards are maintained and Health and Safety procedures are adhered to at all times.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

The key duties and responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

- Ensure deliveries are loaded and offloaded safely and in compliance with the companies Health and Safety procedures.
- Responsible for checking and counting inventory stock.
- Ensure the yard and storage areas are kept clean, tidy and compliant with the company policies and procedures.
- Assist with processing, checking and signing in deliveries.
- Maintain discrepancy records reporting in a timely, efficient manner.
- Follow and abide by company policies and procedures at all times.
- Deliver a high standard of service to delivery drivers and customers.
- Undertake additional duties as and when required.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**
- Must hold a valid forklift license.
- Previous experience in undertaking yard duties; loading and unloading trailers.
- An understanding of Health and Safety and manual handling regulations.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Enthusiastic individual who can work well as part of a small team and independently.
- Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
