Here at West Sussex County Council, what we do changes lives.Blue Cove is a short-term emergency assessment home that provides supportto children at times of crisis or significant periods of change in their lives. We are seeking a passionate individual with excellent organisational skills and to ensure the team is offering high standards of support to children with a focus on consistencyand aspirational outcomes and a "can do" attitude to support our home.Blue Cove offers support and care to children who present with a range of social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties due to family breakdown and early childhood trauma. These childrenare often at risk in the community and as such, it is our goal to keep them safe from harm whilst we work with partner agencies to find a suitable placement or to support them to reintegrate into their previous or a new setting.We offer emergency placementsto children lasting between 28 and 90 days, based on their individual circumstances and needs. Staff support children through building positive relationships and role modelling. Children will be encouraged to partake in a range of activities, both in and outdoorsto build upon their confidence and resilience. Blue Cove is a fast-paced, exciting home to work in, providing exceptional care and support for children.As an Assistant Manager, you will work collaboratively with the Registered Manager and all stakeholdersto assist with delivery of ambitious outcomes for children, striving for continuous improvement in their social, educational and health development.Key Skills: (These will be used as the shortlisting criteria)Excellent interpersonal and communication skills,with the ability to lead and influence others and negotiate positive outcomes.Effective people management skills and the ability to provide support and direction to individuals and teams.Ability to challenge existing practices and identify innovative solutionswithin statutory requirements.Ability to effectively manage the time and priorities of self and othersAbility to interpret and act on complex information and to produce high quality documents with limited guidance.Ability to use IT software to a professionalstandard for general office duties, e.g. Report writing and undertaking research.Qualifications and/or experience: Significant experience of dealing with a diverse range of complex situations while prioritising the wellbeing of children.Significant level ofexperience within a position relevant to the residential care of childrenLevel 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification.Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent.
