Team Leader

A Team Leader is a step up from a Senior Care Assistant position, where you will have additional responsibilities due to your proven skills and experience. You will be a mentor and support to carers on the floor and work with the Deputy Manager and Manager to ensure that we are providing the best possible care. Your role will still be very much hands-on with the residents although you will have added responsibilities such as medication and administrative jobs, helping to write care plans. You will also be in charge of managing carers and seniors on the floor and deploying them appropriately.
To assist where possible in times of sickness and holiday cover.
Support people who use the service with all personal care needs as documented in their care and support plan. Providing health supervision and attention through direct care as required.
Administer medication as required, ensuring stock control is monitored and documented according to legislation.
Help to oversee that all communal areas are properly cleaned and maintained in line with home’s high standards.
Participate and assist in general staff meetings and training. Participate in monthly staff meetings.
Support the management team by maintaining records and all documentation as required.
Undertake specific duties as required to ensure the health, safety and welfare of all people who use the service.
To answer the front door and greet visitors with courtesy and respect, ensuring that every visitor signs the visitor’s book.
To share with other staff in meeting the personal care needs of service users in a respectful manner, to promote the dignity, well-being and independence of each individual.
To be pro-active in providing service users who have been identified as nearing end of life with high quality care, that recognises and maintains their dignity, choice and wishes at all times.
To undertake other reasonably requested duties as may be required, thus ensuring the smooth running of the home.
Person Specification:
Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care
Able to take responsibility
Leadership skills
Self and team motivated
Organised, Flexible and Caring
Sensitive to the needs of others
An active team player but also able to work on own initiative.
Good communication skills.
Committed to high standards
Committed to training
