An exciting and innovative vacancy has arisen based at Moseley Hall Hospital to support the provision of a high-quality catering service, ensuring that the service promotes and supports the care and needs of patients.
The post holder will work within the Trust Facilities Management structure to ensure that the ward catering service supports clinical colleagues in their provision of care for patients, specifically in relation to nutrition and hydration.
The role is patient facing and at times will have 1:1 contact with patients.
The post holder would be required to work on alternative weekends to ensure and support the 7 day service within the in-patient setting.
To work with Trust Dietitians
To train ward based housekeepers
To act as point of contact for the Moseley Hall Hospital catering service
To record accurately financial information to support budgets
To oversee the production of daily menu analysis sheets
To encourage patients and relatives to give views and measure satisfaction
To be responsible for ordering of all dietetic supplement feeds to support clinical teams
To be responsible for undertaking ward kitchen audits
To lead on the management of food waste at ward level
To identify issues from audits and take corrective action
To be responsible for ensuring that communication systems are in place that enable timely accurate and effective communication across department and hospital level
To undertake other duties commensurate with this grade of post in agreement with the relevant Line Manager.

Job Purpose
The Ward Catering Co Coordinator supports the provision of a high quality catering service ensuring that the service promotes and supports the care and needs of patients.
The post holder will work within the Trust Facilities Management structure to ensure that the ward catering service supports clinical colleagues in their provision of care for patients specifically in relation to nutrition and hydration.

The ordering and maintaining of dietetic stock. Main Duties
1. To work with the Trust Dieticians, clinical and housekeeping teams to ensure that patients are provided with a well-balanced and nutritious meal that meets the individual’s dietary and cultural requirements.
1. Training ward-based housekeeping and nursing colleagues on implementation of meal service techniques.
1. Overseeing and acting as the point of contact for the catering service for Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health Trust (BSMHT) unit based at Moseley Hall Hospital by liaising with Housekeeping team for BSMHT.
1. To support all Housekeepers across Moseley Hall Hospital wards for lunch and supper service delivery, to ensure all foods are present at point of arrival to the ward and to ensure any discrepancies addressed in time for meal service.
1. To complete spreadsheets in relation to all provisions to ward from the catering department on a weekly basis; to support the financial budgets and weekly spends to Moseley Hall Catering Department.
1. Support the safe and effective delivery of the ward catering services at inpatient areas across the Trust.
1. To be the lead with regard to supporting the Housekeepers on a weekly basis when they are required to place the weekly ward provision orders to ensure correct stock levels are maintained, correct stock rotation is being observed and to ensure food safety at all times in relation to the storage of opened products in line with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP).
1. To work with the catering administrator/supervisor for the production of the patients daily analysis sheets and delivery documentation for Moseley Hall Hospital in line with HACCP by using the electronic menu mark system which supports the generating of meal reports, and both allergen and calorie information.
1. To oversee the production of daily menu analysis sheets ensuring they are produced daily by the Catering Administrator/ Supervisor for the catering production team.
1. To encourage patients and relatives to give their views and measure satisfaction by discussing the catering service during the Meal Audits at break, lunch and evening meal and in the Annual Catering Satisfaction Survey.
