Collard environmental have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Planner.
**The Role**
Overseeing and coordinating the daily scheduling and route planning of the departments fleet whilst working closely with and supporting the administrative staff. Direct and regular liaison with the transport managers to ensure safe and regulatory compliance for both the transport fleet and the drivers are maintained to the highest standards at all times, with a focus on continuous improvement.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Daily planning and scheduling of the fleet of vehicles within your control to meet customer expectations and business targets
- Day to day monitoring and tracking of vehicles via the tracking system and proactively updating and changing schedules when required to optimise transport efficiencies
- Analysing reports on vehicle earnings and utilisation and managing performance to identify opportunities for improvement and resource requirements
- Managing and motivating drivers, setting clear expectations and ensuring feedback on individual performance is provided both informally and formally where required
- Monitoring and ensuring all drivers are complying with all current HSQE legislation and company management systems and policies
- Escalating any driver disciplinary matters to the Transport Operations Manager and HR
- Management of waste bin stocks advising of stock availability issues
- Liaison with workshops regarding service, MOT and repair requirements
- Administration of drivers pay/holiday/sickness using Realtime, Iris & Tachomaster ensuring this information is passed to payroll weekly.
- Experience in road haulage operations with knowledge of the industry and working environments
- Knowledge and understanding of health and safety, DVSA and VOSA regulations
- Ability to provide a clear picture on operational performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- An effective team player at all levels with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and internal customers, whilst working under pressure
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks
- Ability to effectively utilise a range of software including the MS office suite and fleet management systems.
- Have experience of transport planning and an ability to work under pressure
- Have keen eye for detail and commitment to meeting service commitments
- Have computing skills including IT systems, MS excel and outlook
- Have a full UK driving licence
- A CPC desirable but not essential._

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
